Hi,
Having a few problem with KDE 2.2 (the one which comes
with roswell RH7.2 beta) and my network card, I tried
to go to the hardware browser. As soon as it appeared
the mouse started acting up i.e. going systematically
back to the bottom left corner of the screen (where
the "start application" lives). I have not tried every
applications but so far it is the first time this
happens, in all applications I have used so far the
mouse behaves itself. Under Windows I have no problems
either.
The mouse is a MS intellimouse, in XF86Config-4 it is
configured as follows:
 Section "InputDevice"

   Identifier "Mouse0"
   Driver "mouse"
   Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
   Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
   Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
   Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
EndSection

I have the same mouse on another PC with RH 7.1 (i.e.
kde 2.1.1) there does not seem to be any problems
either (then I have not tried hardware browser and
don't even know whether it is there...)
By the way, why is the Network configuration
completely different in 2.2 and in 2.1? That does not
help configuring the machine...
 Cheers
 Lionel
PS I sent this the the kde list but the experts there
seemed engaged in a flame war and to busy to look into
such mondane problems...
additionally I saw someone with a similar problem in
Gnome (only difference the mouse went to the bottom
right corner, I don't know whether this has to do with
political preferences) so the problem may have to do
with X after all...
The only answer he seems to have gotten (I may have
overlooked some not having had the problem myself
then) was to flash his BIOS -a rather cheap way out of
looking what could be the cause- This is why I bother
mentioning that the problem does not occur with other
OS...
