are you using the driver radeon or ati....

you should be using the radeon driver.
I have attached my XF86Config-4 file previously so you can peruse the
lists and find it or i can simply send it again if it would help.
are your monitor settings right for hsync and vsync? is it a new monitor
or an old one?
