I'm assuming you're using a linux driver for you vid card? If so then 
take out the unix/:7100 line under the 'Selection "Files"' in the 
XFree86Config file.  Then do a 'XFree86 -configure' which will create a 
XFree86Config.new file in your home directory.  Open that up and add the 
FontPath's that were added under the 'Section "Files"' section of the 
file into the XFree86Config file that's in your /etc/X11/ dir.
