Yeah, i've noticed the traffic in ML about that particular chipset, I 
wonder why Trident makes such problematic chipsets anymore.

The chipset is identified properly when scanpci is done. X reports it is a 
"Trident CyberBlade i7/DSTN" or something like that ('m pretty sure that's 
what it says). My OLD laptop had a Trident CyberBlade i1d that happened to 
actually start working with X 4.0.3
