monitor has nothing to do with graphics performance or capability; only with
display capabilities. X only cares about where to start and end the monitor
signals, and how fast to send them; drawing the actual image in the graphics
card's framebuffer is another matter entirely.

so the answer is yes, your monitor will work. (to some extent or another).
