[Newbie]CVS Install

I'm both a newbie with LINUX and xfree86. I'm having trouble with my display chipset, it's the insidious Trident CyberBladeXP Ai1. I've been told to get the latest CVS updates (XFree86_4_1_99). So I installed the appropriate software and downloaded files from the repository using the CVS utility (using "cvs checkout xc"). What do I do now? I asked for assistance via "xpert", but only received the following advice...   >Checkout latest cvs, and build it. Could someone provide a more detailed response? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Each day that goes by without resolution to my display driver woes is another insufferable day in the land of XP...as Madonna wisps me away to lala land.   Thanks, Harley
