I have RH7.2 on a Toshiba tecra 780 laptop. I've been trying to understand what
configuration tools are best. For example, what is a generic laptop display? I
don't
see that as a choice anywhere in Xconfigurator or xf86config. I somehow have
found that HorizSync 30-70 and VertRefresh 50-90 works for me with the s3virge
driver on v4.10 of XFree86. But, it was more or less trial and error. Any insight
into
how to configure, either via a config tool, or how to find the key parameters that
work,
such as the sync rates and so on would be very much appreciated. I have not
installed from
CVS source. Are there more tools or some other information available from this
version
that isn't available in the rpm versions (I have the redhat 7.2 installed version
4.10-3).

Thanks,

Bill Wraith
