Thank you, that seems to be having an effect.  A new problem has shown
itself, and I'm going to have to try and swap monitors with other computers
here....my monitor1 is an old Compudyne, and I'm having trouble getting the
exact requirements for it.

Re: enlightenment:  I like it too.  I just switched from sawmill to
enlightenment and found things working better on the second monitor.
I installed both Gnome and KDE.  I've been working with Gnome because it
seems to be the default, and I haven't researched yet how to switch to KDE.
I was hoping that Gnome might give me a look-and-feel that is similar to
Solaris.  Not that I like or dislike Solaris, but I was involved in a Java
project last spring and I was finding strange problems with the gui I was
writing when I changed platforms, and our main coding integrator liked to do
his work on Solaris :)
