Hello,

after three months of bothering, I got my XServer running!

I bought a NEW computer with MSI 6380 VIA KT266 mainboard and MSI 8826
NVidia GeForce 2 MX 400 video card.
I'm running SuSe 7.0 Kernel 2.4 and updated to XFree 4.1 using the
NVidia driver 1541 for GeForce 2 MX.

This is what the Logfile said:
***********************************************************

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVdriver kernel module!

Now, the trouble was, that the "NVdriver" kernel module (in:
.../2.4.10SuSE/video/, or so...) had been compiled for Kernel 2.2.16,
which is the Version shipped with SuSE 7.0, and not for 2.4.10!
I found this using the "insmod ./NVdriver" command. After recompiling
the module (I now used NVIDIA_kernel(...)1.0.2313) and copying it into
the "video" directory, everything worked. I could also use SaX2.

A useful manual is the "README" file shipped with the NVidia driver
release 2313!!
