Hi All:

This is the next in the continuing saga of installing dual-heads on my
Linux box.

I'm running Mandrake 8.1, the initial release, downloaded ISO and burned
three CDs. I'm using two ATi Rage 128 cards, one AGP and the other PCI,
otherwise they're identical. I'm also using two Optiquest Q71 monitors, one
a -4 the other an -3. XFdrake wouldn't install properly when I did the
first attempt at install so I changed the default slot from AGP to PCI in
the bios and it now comes up with two monitors and all seems fine, until I
open an application window. When I try to move the window from one monitor
to the other, the system locks up - real freeze - we're talking major reset
button lockup. ;-(

I figure I've got just about the most ideal type of installation - two
identical mainstream cards, not bleeding edge but adequately current - two
identical monitors on an adequate platform (600 MHz with 128 MB).

I've tried just about anything I can think of but still no results. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

        Ron Woodall
