I was doing it in singler user mode cause I thought X should not be 
running.  I could have used level 3, but thought 1 would be better.  I 
have already installed the xc directory in roots home directory.  Is 
this bad.  Is this why it is locking up?  I understand your directions 
if I had downloaded the xc directory as another user, but what about as 
root?
