Hi,

I am running xfree86/cygwin, and I have run into a problem with the xterm.

I first looked in the FAQs and repvious newbie questions. RTFF!!!

Answer not found.

Question is:

Whenever I start an xterm window it prints some garbage escape sequence
characters to that window. Type in ls command and get the file listing
followed by the same set of garbage and then the prompt.

If I start up a simple cygwin shell there are no garbage characters.

This is REALLY annoying.

the sequence that is printed every time I hit the enter key is:

\[\033]0;\w\007
\033[32m\]\u@\h \[033[33m\w\033[0m\]

I have a colleague who runs this same setup (xfree86/cygwin) and I compared
/etc/termcap files and mine are identical with his. He does not have
this problem.

If you can at least point me in the right direction I can probably solve
this, thanks!
