Sorry this is a dupe ... my other message got held because I didn't use

Okay ... I have Red Hat 7.2 (base kernel, although recompiled) and have
loaded Xfree86 4.20 binaries for Linux onto my Fujitsu Lifebook C7651
laptop (1.133 Ghz, 512Mb RAM, 40Gb HDD). When I run XFree86
-configure, the screen goes black, as if it's switching video modes, and
eventually returns with a bunch of crap about unresolved symbols ... like
several hundred of them. Some of them appear to be from other video
drivers I don't need, so I've deleted them. Some of the unresolved symbol
errors go away, but even when I leave just the Intel i810 driver, I still
get unresolved symbol issues (this laptop has the Intel 830M chipset in
it).

>From the log, it appears that it's correctly recognizing the Intel 830
chipset. I have looked high and low for the symbols it's looking for, but
have not found much.

Any thoughts on this one? Have I not loaded some shared libs or
something?

P.S. Have run /sbin/ldconfig several times, passing the /usr/lib/X...
directory as a parameter.
