Depending on which distribution you use you can usually find RPM's from
http://www.rpmfind.net, or from your distribution CD.

Another way of getting RPM's would be from Mandrakes cooker, or from
Redhat's Rawhide. I was having an issue recently getting my Geforce4 to
work with X and I had to compile from CVS, and considering I prefer to
make RPM's and install my software that way I created an RPM based on the
CVS from Feb 14, 2002. You can download the source RPM from
http://aleph.atecgroup.com/~chrisf/SRPMS/XFree86-4.2.99-6.30.src.rpm

xedit was removed from that rpm because it was failing compilation on
format.c, but everything else should be there.

I don't recommend that RPM for the feint of heart, it's cobbled together
with RedHat's Rawhide SPEC, a bit of duct tape, and some superglue, but it
is available to use if you wish.
