v 4.1.0 on Linux Release 4.1.0-3

Trident Cyber \Blade XP (Trident Cyber 9910)

16 meg, I do not know if it is shared in a laptop

I am able to see graphical display in the installation but the display test
during installation gives a blank screen and then returns to the
installation screen. after stepping past this test and restarting the laptop
there appear to be a number of errors that scroll by too quickly to capture
and it begins in a text mode. Running Xconfigurator reports that there are
problems with the configuration and merely directs me back to the
congurator.
>Any error messages?
as above
>Any error messages in /var/log/XFree86.0.log?
Didn't know to look here thanks, which also gave me the answer to version
this also shows no errors however it indicates the following:
X window system Version 11, Revision 0, Vendor Release 6510, Release 2
June 2001
XFree86 - configued
Screen "Screen 0 (0)<this is interesting what does 0 screen mean?
Monitor "Std Vga 640x480 @ 60 Hz <this is the last I tried in desperation
it is supposed to support 1024x768>
there is also a keyboard and mouse status
Ahh errors:
The system is unable to determine video RAM and so assigned 1MB though
earlier it indicated that the VESA VBE tot mem was 16384 and immediately
following this error all the monitors can't be used because they lack
sufficient memory. So how do I configure the system to find the memory for
my video I suppose is the question since the driver appears to be available.
WW Trident (0): mode pool is empty
EE Trident (0): No viable modes found
>What does your Video and monitor sections in XF86Config or -4 look like?
I don't know what this means? Where do I find this information

Thanks for the sensitivity... Yes, it was initially a little terse... the
question is coming from a NEWBIE not an advanced user... gotta walk before I
run sorry if it wasn't enough info... such a Newbie that I couldn't even
tell you what was wrong until you told me where to look for where it hurt...
Thanks for the time and efforts, and patience however, since "the wounds of
a friend are more valuable than the kisses of an enemy"
