I have an IBM A22p laptop that has the ATI Rage 128 Mobility LF
chipset in it. XFree86 works perfectly on the LCD screen but when I
attach a CRT to the external video port I can't drive the CRT with a
vrefresh greater than 60 Hz. XFree86 always seems to think the LCD is
attached and defaults to the LCD's vrefresh. Does anyone know of a
way to convince XFree86 to only use the external video port?

I have tried setting the Display to be external only in the Bios.
Linux begins booting on the CRT but when xdm tries to come up the LCD
comes on and all I see is one line at the bottom getting refreshed out
of sync and the CRT goes into powersaving mode. Using the Fn-F7 key
combo to toggle between LCD and CRT will bring the display up on
either one but only in 60 Hz vrefresh.

I have tried the "crt_display" option, but the r128 driver does not
support it.

I am using RedHat 7.2 with XFree86 version 4.1.0-15. Any ideas would
be greatly appreciated.

I've attached my XF86Config-4 and XFree86.0.log below.

Thanks,
Lee
