I would appreciate any help or light someone can
shed on the error attached.
There was no /dev/vga on my NetBSD x86 box (its a TP600... old
266 MH PII).. So I made one cloned like a freebsd box I have
running i.e. /dev/vga--->/dev/ttyv0.
I have tried the released X from NetBSD 1.5.2 (what I am
running on). I have tried the newer 4.1.x that NetBSD
has on there web site. And now I have loaded and tried the
4.2.0 binaries from the XFree web site.. they all give
this error... I can't run xf86cfg or any X server without
getting this error.
I did have this machine on FreeBSD for a bit and it loaded
X fine..
I have made sure that INSECURE mode is set in the configuration and
also I have rebuilt a kernel without IPSEC (not that this should
effect it.. but hey when you get desperate).
Has anyone seen this error? If soo what was your resolution... I guess
tommorrow I could start playing with MMAP and try to figure
out what is so bad with /dev/vga...
