I have Dell 8100 with Geforce2 Go. Took me awhile to get it to operate reliably. I upgraded the kernel to 2.4.17, although some people 2.4.17 is not stable yet and should use 2.4.16. I then upgraded Xfree86 to 4.2. Reading the changes from 4.2 to 4.1 it has added additional support for the Nvidia drivers including Geforce2.
I upgraded the Nvidia drivers with the .src.rpm files for Kernel 1.0-2314 Nvidia_GLX 1.0-2313. -----Original Message----- From: Parish, Yoav [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, February 23, 2002 8:09 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Newbie]X11 Setup on a DELL Precision M40 Hello all, i am wondering if anybody has ever setup a (SuSE 7.3) Linux X11 on a DELL Precision M40? It has a builtin nVidia Gf 2 Go card. The nvidia.com drivers didnt improve the situation much. I have used some xf86config files from elsewhere but until now with no measurable progress... Do I have to update xfree? Is something special about the nvidia drivers i wouldnt know? Any help would be greatly appreciated! thx yp _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
