You could try "man -k install" to see what else breaks, but I don't expect much enlightenment, since "make World" went OK. You didn't tell us what sort of system you're doing this on (e.g., Solaris? QNX? and the version, and anything else unusual). Maybe if you post that someone will recognize it.
