I downloaded and installed XFree86 4.2.0 as per the installation instructions and found that my K Desktop Environment has been replaced with the Lesstif Window Manager (i.e. the GPL version of Motif), which I do not know how to use; according to one of my Linux reference books, Lesstif is intended for experienced programmers, not newbies.
I need KDE so that I can continue to use kppp to connect to my ISP, but I also need XFree86 4.2.0 so that I can perform tasks such as getting the TV functions of my ATI All-in-Wonder Rage Pro to work, and taking advantage of the 3D rendering functions of my AMD K6-2 processor. I am currently running Red Hat 7.0. Could somebody please help me? Thanks!
