Hi You need to setup your screen section of the XF86Config file. Go to the NVIDIA webite, dowload, linux, at the bottom you will see a link to the user groups. The one for Linux has a great deal of info, typically several hundred a day. Their archive has over 8,000 emails, and you can search it.

I am using XFree86 4.1.0 Everything seems to install OK. I used the source RPMS. The problem comes when I replace "nv" with "nvidia" in my XF86Config file. Trying to restart X produces the error: Fatal Server Error: no screens found. I ran /sbin/lsmod and discovered the following: Module Size Used by NVdriver 939712 0 (unused) On my system NVdriver is found in the directory /lib/modules/2.2.14-5.0/video I tried removing the module using rmmod and then running insmod directly from this directory. Executing the command indicated success, but lsmod still shows (unused) and trying to start X produces the same error. I checked the file /etc/conf.modules and it does contain the following line. alias char-major-195 NVdriver Here is a portion of my XFree86 log file (WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia (II) UnloadModule: "nvidia" (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0) Can anyone help? Many thanks.
