Another option that wasn't listed, which is also free is VNC 
(http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc), which allows you to run a remote X 
session from a linux/unix box on a Windows PC, or vice-versa.  Versions 
are also available for Solaris, Mac and DEC Alpha OSF1, which I've not 
tried. 

Quite useful, IMO
