Define 'good Radeon support' because I have very good 2D performance, but no matter how much I've banged my head against the keyboard, I still have no DRI. Makes me very, very sad! I bought this card specifically because it was said to be well supported under XF86, but I can't figure out how to enable DRI!!!

I even tonight downloaded the DRI CVS, compiled (minor error at first, but I fixed that and recompiled) and installed it according to the directions in the DRI Compilation Guide (http://www.xfree86.org/4.2.0/DRIcomp.html). Still no [3D] dice.

Help!

I understand y'all like to look at config files, but I don't want to just spam them out to the whole list. Tell me the files you want to look at and I'll upload them to my ISP and link to them in a subsequent email.

Thanks,
Paul

Desktop Configuration:

Red Hat Linux 7.2 (Enigma)
Kernel 2.4.9-31custom (Athlon)

Ximian Gnome 1.4
AOC Spectrum 7VIr 17" Monitor

Use the radeon driver. It is included with XFree86 4.2.0.
I'm not sure whether it is included or even obtainable for
earlier X.

I asked nearly the same quesyion a month or two back. The advice
I got was to upgrade to 4.2.0 if I wanted good Radeon support. I
did, and my 7500 works fine.

You can get 4.2.0 as source from the xfree86.org website, but
it may be easier to look for RPMs, Debian packages, ... whatever
your system uses. I found RPMs for my Mandrake fairly easily,
just digging around on Mandrake site.
