Hi everyone,
I have a problem with XFree86 and Enlightenment.
It seems that while configuring/building/installing the nessesary libs
for enlightenment, I've somehow stuffed my XFree86 config. It can't seem to
find the lib 'libXmuu.so.1' that is in /usr/X11R6/lib dir, and cannot start
without it. Furthermore, I can't finish building the libs required for
enlightenment, because 'imlib' can't find 'libX11.so.6' but it can find
'libXext.so' that is in the same dir, /usr/X11R6/lib. I've sent an e-mail to
e-users, but no luck yet, so I thought I could try here.
The lib dir's are in my .bash_profile PATH= and also in ld.so.conf file,
an I've tried running ldconfig, but no go. I'm using a system I built arount
LinuxFromScratch-3.2-rc2, so I's still only a basic system. I did have X
4.2.0 running before I tried installing the libs, and I'm hoping that the
reason behind X not finding the lib it needs, is the same as 'imlib' not
finding what it needs too.
Thiese are the libs I've installed so far:
Freetype-2.0.9
glib-1.2.10
gtk+-1.2.10
jpeg-v6b
libpng-1.2.1
libungif-4.1.0
tiff-v3.5.7
zlib-1.1.4
pkgconfig-0.12.0
imlib-1.9.13
And here is a basic list of my system:
XFree86 4.2.0.
Linux kernel-2.4.17
glibc-2.2.5
Bash-2.05a
Binutils-2.11.2
Diffutils-2.7
Fileutils-4.1
GCC-2.95.3
Make-3.79.1
Sh-utils-2.0
Ncurses-5.2
Autoconf-2.52
Automake-1.5
Any help, no matter what, will be appreciated. I've been banging my head
against the wall trying to get it to work, and the worst thing is that I
know it's only going to be something realy realy simple to fix it. Sorry if
this is a bit off-topic, but i'm hoping that the problem with X is related
to my libs not finding what they need since they're all in the same dir.
Thanks to all who read this, and thanks x2 to all who respond.
