Be careful you don't set fire to it. I mean that literally. Modern tubes shut themselves down if they're driven beyond their capabilities, but if it's old it could overheat. The XFree86 configuration instructions used to be *full* of warnings that you could damage your tube and even burn your house down if you got it wrong. Much more exciting in those days ;-) Still, since you have all those numbers, you should be able to just plug them into the appropriate places in your XF86Config file and be safe. Bear in mind that those numbers interact. Clearly it won't do 55 KHz horizontal and 120 Hz vertical at the same time, or they wouldn't say you can only do 1024x768 at half that vertical frequency. If you're outside the envelope, all you'll see is a blank screen, or snow. Might be best to pick either the 1024x768x60Hz or the 800x600x75Hz and delete all the other modes from the XF86Config file, if you're using 3.3.6 and editing the file by hand. -- Remember, more computing power was thrown away last week than existed in the world in 1982. -- http://www.tom.womack.net/computing/prices.html _______________________________________________ Newbie mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
