Hey everyone,

I just finished compiling 4.2.0 from source, and I'm having problems getting it to
run. On startup it will load most modules, but when it gets to display adapters it
barfs:

(II) LoadModule: "nv"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nv_drv.o
No symbols found in this module
(EE) Failed to load /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nv_drv.o
(II) UnloadModule: "nv"
(EE) Failed to load module "nv" (loader failed, 256)

and then continues to choke on mouse_drv:

(II) LoadModule: "mouse"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o
No symbols found in this module
(EE) Failed to load /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o
(II) UnloadModule: "mouse"
(EE) Failed to load module "mouse" (loader failed, 1)
(EE) No drivers available.

Then it dies of: Fatal server error: no screens found

I don't think it's because of my XF86Config, cos it chokes when running 'X
-configure', the only difference being that it has a lot more modules to fail on ;)

I've attached my XF86Config file, the XFree86.0.log that it generates, and the log
that X -configure generates (named XFree86.configure.log).

PURLEASE can someone shed some light on this. Is this off-list for the newbie list?
Should I be posting to Xpert? Any advise, criticism, flames, RTFMs, etc encouraged and
desired :D

TIA,

Pete

# Uncomment this to cause a core dump at the spot where a signal is

# provide a better stack trace in the core dump to aid in debugging

# Option "NoTrapSignals"

# Uncomment this to disable the <Crtl><Alt><BS> server abort sequence
# This allows clients to receive this key event.

# Option "DontZap"

# Uncomment this to disable the <Crtl><Alt><KP_+>/<KP_-> mode switching

# Option "Dont Zoom"

# Uncomment this to disable tuning with the xvidtune client. With
