I have a ati radeon All in wonder card with a KDS Rad5 LCD monitor. I am running 4.2.0 compiled from source (it also didn't work with the xfree provided by redhat 7.2). I can not switch to a virtual terminal or exit X and have the screen return to normal. The monitor reports invalid sync rates. The horizontal refresh is about 180hz. The vertical is also beyond the monitor limits. How do I control the monitor sync rates when switching to a virtual terminal or exiting X? Note, the rates are fine prior to starting X.
