Hello all,
I'm troubleshooting some fairly high end technical machines used in marine
surveys. Trying to isolate the cause has been a major headache, and I still
don't have it. I've captured some relevant logs ( had to write a shell
wrapper to get the .xsession-errors log ) and I hope some of you may lend me
some eyeballs.

We have several of these rigs, they all crash pretty regularly while on
the survey simulators ( usually within a day or two ). The 'crash' is
defined as X restarting back to the kdm login.

The machines are PACKED with PCI cards, one dual nic, on board nic, dual
channel scsi, 2x Digiboard serial boards (binary driver...), 1 Bantum time
control card ( binary driver... again ), dual PIII, Creative PCI 128, dual
head Matrox G450 ( XF's driver with Xinerama ).

We moved to XF42 from RH's XF403 because of improved support for the G450.
We chose the G450 because it seems to be the all around highest recommended
dual head video card for linux. Anyone know any differently, please speak
up. A day of down time during marine survey usually costs more than my
yearly salary.

One note: the clocks on these machines are tweaked VERY often, as they are
constantly kept in sync with a dedicated LAN connected atomic clock. The
attachments are copies of XFree86.log.0, $HOME/.xsession-errors, and the
last 1000 lines of /var/log/messages.
