I installed the Suse 8.0 distribution on my Sony Vaio PCG-Z505SX
laptop. This distribution contains XFree 4.2.0 as default. The
Vaio 505 is their "superslim" series which has the trackpad
and two buttons.
The hardware probes worked fine and I accepted all defaults. It
works fine, with one very annoying exception. While typing,
every minute or so, the insert point jumps to where ever
the pointer is floating. While surfing, periodically whatever
the pointer is over gets selected without me pushing mouse
button one. Needless to say this makes the system difficult
to use. It worked fine for Windows.
