I upgraded to 4.2.0 and my resolution still doesn't work, what do I do now?
seriously though, I was told that for ATI radeon we needed to upgrade to
4.2.0 before anyone would even try to help.
the problem is that in mandrake control center (on mandrake 8.1) under the X
server settings, it reports that my resolution is 1024x768 this is not the
case however. my resolution is 800x600-ish. is this not the preferred way to
change resolutions? it is the only option I've found so far for changing the
resolution. is there a way to change resolution via the cmd line? those
methods typically seem to work better IME.
any assistance would be appreciated,
