Have you run "top" from a console to see what is running and how much CPU
time is available? There may be so much network activity when you are
connected to the router that the CPU doesn't have enough cycles left to
drive the video card. In that case, you may want to stop some of the network
processes if you don't need them.

Subject: [Newbie]XFRee / Nvidia / Router

Anyone else having problems with XFree 4.0.1 running an NVidia TNT2 card
while connected to a Netgear RP114 router? I have a workstation running
Mandrake 8.1 with XFree 4.0.1 and an NVIDIA card that has issues when I
connect the workstation to a Netgear RP114 router.
When it's not connected, XFree gives excellent performance. When it's
connected, XFree is sluggish.

The networking setup (when it's connected to the router) appears to be OK.
Traceroute to the router times out, but the workstation can ping the router
by name and by number.

I'm confused.
