Thanks Spandan, The Xconfigurator is the app that is not correctly reinstalling the ATI video card drivers. When I go to test the xwindows it comes back and says that it can not configure. Do I want to go back or quit? I went in vi on the XFree86.0.log file and found only one (EE). It said failed to load GLcore module does not exist and further down it gives the error Fatal Server Error: Caught Signal 11. Server aborting. I thought that I uninstalled the GLX and Kernel for the NVIDIA card with RPM. I could be wrong, it could have files still in the folder somewhere. RPM did say that the drivers were removed, I don't know.

Anyway any line starting with (EE) is an error and rest are some or the other kinda information. Look at the legends and you might be able to understand the log better. On RedHat system you can configure video card with Xconfigurator, Xfree86 -configure and vi /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Try all the three.
