[Newbie]Virge GX

Just installed RedHat 7.3, and am going crazy! The display in KDE has flickering all over the place, and a large black box attached to the mouse pointer. I have run XF86config a few times, and Xconfigurator and can't fix it. It is a S3 Virge GX card, 2meg. I know I have the right monitor frequencies entered. As well, when I come out of the X environment, the shell is only 70% width, and it gets wrapped. Anyone been through this before, and have guidance??   Regards, Derek
