Ok, here's one:
With FreeBSD 4.5 I never had this problem. I am now running 4.6, and
on two boxes (with different hardware, graphics and otherwise) and am
getting this symptom:
No error messages at all--the log has NO complaints. X begins to load
the mouse (in both cases USB mice, which worked with FBSD4.5 /
X4.2.0), and simply stops. No freezing the system, no warnings, error
messages, just nothing. The last line of the log is:
baud rate=1200...
Hardware:
box1: Athlon 1200, 512 DDR
Matrox G400
Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse (USB)
FreeBSD 4.6r, XFree86-4.2.0
box2: K6-350, 230MB
ATI 3D Rage Turbo
Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse (USB)
FreeBSD 4.6r, XFree86-4.2.0
Both worked so well with FreeBSD 4.5...any ideas, help?
