Hi everybody,
I am trying to make an ATI all-in-wonder Radeon card working with
a iiyama flat panel (au4831d), using the DVI port, at a 1600x1200
resolution.
The modelines of my XF86Config-4 are based on DDC information
found in the log, using the "radeon" driver, my HorizSync and
VertRefresh are from the monitor documentation :

And the server gives :

If I add "1024x768" in the "Modes", the sever starts but the
screen becomes blank (without going to power saving mode), I
think it is because the dot clock is set to 162 by the driver.
For now, I have changed "radeon" to "fbdev" and I have X running
in a 1024x768 "window" in the middle of the 1600x1200 screen :-/
I saw in the CVS Changelog that a lot of work is done on the
radeon driver but I do not want to wait for XFree 4.3, and using
the CVS version does not seem to be so easy...
BTW, I did not succes in using a higher frame buffer resolution
than 1024x768, even in 16 bbp, eg 1600x1200 (using 0x31F in lilo
ask prompt / in lilo.conf ask field), or even 1280x1024 (0x31B).
It is too bad since high resolution frame buffer would have been
good enough for my pine / xemacs / lateX / mozilla activities...
Lost, I have installed windows just to see if 1600x1200 using DVI
is possible : the XP ATI driver works great ! The only problem is
that I have nothing to do under windows ! So, please, help !
