I'm running XFree86 4.2.0 on a dual-processor Xeon with
a Matrox G200 PCI card. It's the quad-head variety but only one
display is currently hooked up. The OS is FreeBSD 4.6.
The X server comes up and runs fine if the server is
started by hand via 'startx', but XDM fails. XDM used to loop
forever, starting and restarting the server, but I dragged down,
built and reinstalled XFree86 4.2.0 from source, and someone's
gone and fixed THAT bug, hurray!
The problem is that XDM succeeds in doing a grabServer,
but then fails on an X_getGeometry call and dies. Anyone know
what this is all about?
