I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and I
would like to set it up so that I can use the buttons
on the side. Mainly, I want to be able to use one of
the buttons on the side as the "Back" button in
browsers. I've added the following to my XF86Config-4
file:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "IntelliMouse Explorer"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection
However, now when I start up, I have to type in the
folowing command (xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4
5") in a terminal to get the wheel to work on the
actual wheel instead of on the buttons on the side.
How can I make it so that this is automatically setup
like this when I start so I don't have to keep typing
that command in??
So, I believe I'm at the point where I've defined that
I have 7 buttons and I've got the wheel working. Now
what I would like to know is, how do I get the side
button to work as the "Back" button in browsers (ie
Mozilla, and even Nautilus)??

On a side note, I recently updated my kernel and all
of a sudden, I could use all of my TV viewing programs
that I had been trying to get working for months. I
have an ATI AIW Radeon. Now, I just have to figure
out how to get it to record and capture pictures. I
don't know what happened, but I'm liking the updated
version of the kernel a lot! :)
