I've recently purchased a new mouse (Laser 4D optical mouse, 5-button) and I've found that in KDE it's response is can be somewhat varied.
I've noticed a pattern to some of it, when the mouse cursor is stopped, it requires a certain amount of movement to make it move, which makes small adjustments difficult.
