Hi-
You probably don't have a microsoft mouse, most likely it is PS/2.
Try setting the protocol to PS/2, the device to /dev/psaux (xf86config
defaults to /dev/mouse but as far as I know this is only meant to be a
symlink to the real device), and enable "Emulate3Buttons". You can do all
of this through xf86config. Right now, X thinks your mouse is attached to
a serial port (/dev/ttyS0) which is problably not the case.
