I have recently installed the Aurora (Redhat 7.3) version of linux on a Sun Ultra10.

I am able to get the system up and working to a terminal screen and can start xwindows with the on board graphics card, which appears to be so form of ATI Rage Pro. However, the Ultra10 is badged as a Creator3D and appears to be fitted with an additional display card which seems to be a Creative 3D. I am trying to ascertain wether any of the XFree86 servers will provide support on the Sparc architecture for this card or if the source could be used to produce a suitable server for such a system.

Thanks for any help

From Sun and XFree docs, I think you should be able to use it with the sunffb driver.
I'mm wondering if it's going to have a good hardware acceleration support, though, since Sun 3D cards are quite proprietary.

Would you post your results and if it works, how fast it feels ?

Thanks!
