i've tried:
(a) VertRefresh 60-85 (worked with FX70 1024x768)
(b) VertRefresh 50-85 (Viewsonic's email suggestion)
(c) VertRefresh 60 (my idea)
(d) VertRefresh 50-75 (this thread)
all lead to X working properly, but
all lead to "sync out of range" in textmode when toggling from
X to virtual consoles, or upon leaving X
immediately upon a cold power-on, the panel's
OSD (on screen display) shows:
Resolution: 640x480
Frequency: H: 31.6 KHz
V: 60.1 Hz
then linux boots, the font becomes smaller and
the OSD shows:
Resolution: 1024x768
Frequency: H: 48.4 KHz
V: 60.1 Hz
then i login and startx with an XF86Config-4 VertRefresh 50-75,
(X runs fine) and the OSD shows:
Resolution: 1280x1024
Frequency: H: 80.0 KHz
V: 75.0 Hz
then modify XF86Config-4 to VertRefresh 60
then leave X
then startx (blindly since textmode is not working) with an
XF86Config-4 VertRefresh 60 (X runs fine again) and
the OSD shows:
Resolution: 1280x1024
Frequency: H: 64.0 KHz
V: 60.0 Hz
