Hi Chris, Sorry to all if I am slipping in,
Your spelling "xwmconfig" is Ok. May be you don't have it in your installation. This program basically sets a pointer (mostly soft) to point to your basic X Window Manager (xwm..). Have a check in "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit" or where ever xinit resides in your in- stallation. Mostly you will find this pointing to xinintrc.kde, xinitrc.fvwm95 etc. You can easilly do this with "ln -s" if you don't have "xwmconfig". A happy new year Hans. _________________________________________________________________ At 23:45 25/12/02 +0000, you wrote: >hi, i tried the command 'xwmconfig' and it doesn't work. it's not a >recognized command. is that how it is spelled? i'm using red hat 7.1. i >haven't ever set a default for x, so this is probably the problem. thanks. > >chris > > > > > > > From: GreenTree Ground Station <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: Chris Capaci <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: [Newbie]KDE problem >Date: Wed, 25 Dec 2002 15:14:25 -0800 (PST) > >I presume you're using Linux ? >Have you tried running 'xwmconfig' to set the default >window manager to KDE (or one of the others) before >you 'startx' ???
