I think you should not have any problems with your screen. However, if it is not 
recognised
automatically by the config program then you should have the specs (H and V refresh 
and whether it
is multisync or not.
If not you can always try something conservative BUT there is a chance of WIPING OUT 
the monitor
if you specify refresh rates out of the allowed range...
Newer RH versions should be no problem since they give you both X 4.x.x (the new 
version of X) and
X 3.3.6 (the old one)
If I were you I would probably go for RH 7.2 or 7.3 (I am still a bit suspicious of 
8.x)
