Some of us are still on dialup with slow transfer rates. When viewing the map display at many of the various web sites, including openstreetmap, the map often does not fill incompletely. At informationfreeway.org, for example, some of the tiles will be a light blue. On Google maps text will show in place of some tiles saying that "we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region." I know it does exist since I can often see it, just not this time. I assume that this is a problem where the slow transfer rate has caused a timeout of loading that tile.
Is there a way to force reloading of a tile on any of these displays? Reloading the full page often does not help either because the same or a different tile will still not be loaded, or because reloading the page takes you to the original zoom setting instead of the current one. Any ideas? _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/newbies
