Hi, there is something I don't get: if I cycle some residential streets a second or a third time, I often find that the track is consitently off the street for a few meters, e.g. between 10 and 50 meters.
Now, if the GPS would produce a Gaussian error, I would expect a track to zigzag left and right from an older track, but obviously this is not the case. Does anyone know how these errors come about? Is it a principle GPS problem so that there is a consitent error depending on the satellite(s) currently seen, or is it the device's (in this case Garmin) software that smoothes out the Gaussian in such a way that the user gets a straight track?
