There's nothing in the OSM data file to say which ways constitute "polygons" - it's up to each application (editors and renderers alike) to decide. So given that you want to render stuff with osmarender then you would need to tell it which features you want to render as polygons, and it doesn't matter what JOSM thinks one way or another. > I posted this same comment on the Wiki Talk: Josm.
