Hi Blake, This needs to be explained a bit more prominently in the wiki (though it is mentioned in one or two places) but the you should always enter the name unabbreviated, and it is then left to client software (such as renderers) to abbreviate them in output or when searching. Abbreviations can be ambiguous so it's best this way round.
So in your example, go for "Crescent."
