Anne, It's probably worth asking what part of the world you are in. We can probably put you in touch with someone with plenty of experience who might be able to spend an hour showing you the tricks. Failing that perhaps one of the upcoming mapping parties. We wouldn't want to see you loose your obvious keen interest because of illogical barriers.
