Hello! I found that every <node /> created by JOSM has attribute set: created_by: JOSM maybe i'm wrong, but if the <node /> is a part of <way /> it should NOT be set because way will have same attribute so it will be known that it is created by JOSM.
I've greped the poland.osm file (from geofabric) and found that 480526 nodes has this TAG, every one id 35 bytes long ( <tag k="created_by" v="JOSM"/>\n) so it is: 480526 * 35 = 16818410 bytes = 16MB in a file which is: 187MB bytes length it is ~8.5% of a file. -- Pozdrawiam, Jakub.
