Currently there is nothing to add to the data that sets the rendering location. Clearly where pathways are very twisty placing names should be done in a different way, but that's a rendering issue unrelated to the data you enter. The only way to move the name along the way currently is to split the way up into more than one section, then the name will get rendered on each section. Not something I would encourage but perfectly acceptable for really long ways. > >Is there someway to control the position of the label? > >One kludge I have used is to create a line that has a name but won't >render, like this.... >http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=34.33732&lon=- >118.2698&zoom=16&layers=B000FTF Please don't add data in a manner that works for the renderer. The data should always be entered correctly. Fixing the renderer will eventually overcome the problem given time. > >Suggestions, comments, etc appreciated > >Matt > >_______________________________________________ >newbies mailing list >[email protected] >http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies > >No virus found in this incoming message. >Checked by AVG - www.avg.com >Version: 8.0.237 / Virus Database: 270.11.6/1980 - Release Date: 03/02/09 >23:02:00 _______________________________________________ newbies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/newbies
